Throwing Back A Thorn Bush

You know the feeling where something just keeps persisting in your mind and makes you worry and think about it all day long to no end. It just like walking through a thorn bush. No matter how hard you push along to get past it, the thorns are still there to prick you. But alas, i now feel that i have broken free of that thorn bush which has been pricking me the past weeks.

It was such a pain not because i did not know what to do but rather i knew what had to be done and i was afraid of the probable outcome of that decision. The answer that i was longing to know would either be a warm breeze or a hammerfall on dainty crytal heart.

I'm glad that I now have the answer to which was bugging me and it was an answer that i really hoped for.

The noises are dying down as everyone has finally gotten tired of it. How much can one be of a topic? Long but not indefinite. The chaos dies down to leave a silence and peace that resembles a falling leaf.

I realize that I've not been blogging for at least a month. Heh...i somehow lost the heat for it during that time interval because i felt that i was contented with how things were n life for just a short period. Or it could also be because i was a little conflicted during that time. I don't really know and i can tell.

So now winter has really broken in and at this current juncture it's depressing given the current situation. I think most of you who are here with me in Kalamazoo would somehow guess why it would be depressing for me. It is exactly what you think the reason is. As much as i don't want it to be, i am still thinking of it and feeling the absence.

This would not be the first time that this has happened but somehow this time, the feeling seems heavier and carries with it more emotions. However, i am not one to spoil someone's day by reminiscing about it. I will put on a smiling front and enjoy my time with the rest of you. My grey scale feelings are not something you all should be burdened with. I applaud you all for putting up with my nonsense and i know that i go overboard sometimes and i apologize for it. However, please understand that sometimes i also have my limits of which i can take nonsense. I admit I'm not a very patient person, in fact far from it but i try.

I'm sorry.

So i've been lazy to update my blog despite having nothing else better to do...But i think i've reach a point where its getting considerably outdated....

So anyway...life's the same old same old...this weekend was fun though since it was the 'Scariest' day of the year...yes it was Halloween!!!
Halloween here sure is something awesome. Over here in the states, its something that is really big and everyone takes the trouble to prepare and dress up for it. There were so many parties going around and most of the hottest joints in Kzoo were crazy. Unfortunately, unlike Malaysia over here you have to be 21 to enter those joints and to drink. And your's truly is sadly only 19.

So instead of partying outside, we had a small home party at our place on Friday night and Saturday we went for the Halloween Dance that was organized by IPC. Pictures ensue.....

Alright i admit that this is way way overdued. My birthday was on the 10th which was a Friday but we went Firehouse, a bar/club on Thursday night. I actually find that cooking is fun and it relieves stress. When you cook, all there is to worry about is the food that you're cooking and all other things just seem to fade away for a period. Also, its fun cause you get to experiment wth new ways off cooking. Granted i dont have many ingredients to cook with so I have to attempt to make something new out of what i have.

Anyway, i cooked this for dinner today :D:D

A lil more and it'll be as good as my mum's....it might the seasoning not the skills though HAHAHA...self denial.....lol

Anyway we went down to Chicago for this Raya Open House that was hosted by the Malaysian Students Department in Chicago. It was almost as though we were back in Malaysia as we saw SO many Malaysians. Honestly i never expected so many Malays. It seemed exactly like a normal Raya open house back home. We obviously got to enjoy Malaysian food like curry chicken, rendang, laksa, kuih and many more...oooo bliss...

After the open house, we went to the Chicago city center for the new transfer students who are namely us :D

Yet another has passed and life still is the same albeit alot of people in it feeling down and all about relationships and life. But that's not something that i wanna talk about. On a brighter note, i finally couldn't resist temptation and bought my self an iPod Touch. I admit i've been wanting an iPod since like forever but i never quested for one. However since the new iPods came out, iPod prices have dropped considerably. And also considering that i'm in the States where electronics are so much cheaper than back in Malaysia, i got one and am not regretting it.

Now that i've got an iPod i dont think that i'll bother getting another item that i always wanted which is a PSP. Instead, i'm going to get myself a new pair of shades since my old pair has let me down. Considering that it is a United Colors of Benneton pair of shades, since i got to the States the shades started deteriorating. The UV coating is actually peeling off and just the other day i have no idea how but i lost the nose piece on the right side. So new shades be coming in now. No more spending after the shades. I dont really have anything else to get anyway.

Beach, Life and Feelings

Went to South Haven last Saturday with the housemates and some seniors and friends. 11 of us went and it was an enjoyable trip. We left our place like 12 something and got to the beach close to 2. And the amazing thing is that we only came back at 2am. Yes people 2am. We played around during the day at the beach and in the evening we had a bbq and drinking. Yes drinking is pretty much included in most gathering/group dinner/bbq/party in the States. I might most probably go back to Malaysia an alcoholic. We had like 2 bottles of Bacardi that night with quite alot of beer. No one got drunk so no worries. Anyway i'm going to let the pictures take it away.

Life here in the States has been pretty much boring. There really isn much to do and sometimes it can be a little depressing especially when the net is down. Its a good thing that we can still hang out with people. It really isnt so bad as there are still things to do around here. Its the nights and Sundays when the bus doesnt run.

There isnt even things to spend money on if you do have the cash to spend. Dont mention things like getting a PS3 or Xbox. Those things can become boring after some time. We still dont have a tv yet and are pretty much leeching off Dawn' cable. Sorry Dawn. You find us in your place almost everyday.

I need to get out more. It seems that the only thing that i can do is throw on my sports attire and just go out jogging or playing something alone or with others. This is going to be the life for the next 2 years.

Atleast i wll say that cooking is fun. Seriously you might think that a guy liking to cook is not manly but there is a certain thrill in trying out something and seeing whether it comes out good. I dont mind cooking for others as long as i have the time and i know what to cook. Well that pretty much sums up life over here.

Uncomfortable is what i would describe my feelings now. Somehow and i cant really explain why but i tend to worry about other people more than myself. Seeing others in distress makes me worry them. Its been like this since i can remember. I worry for my friends, relatives and basically people that are close to me or i know. It might have come from the time when someone i knew did something incredibly regretful because that person was in a distressed and depressed state. The only time i dont worry is when i'm asleep. Arh well i'm human and i do have emotions although quite a number of people would not believe that coming from me. Do i really put on a cold demeanor that depicts me. I admit that i can be cold at times but i do care especially for those i keep close to my heart. I need assurance to stop worrying........

The Past Week

Not going to post much in this post. Nothing interesting has happened so far in the whole week. Life in Kalamazoo is really as the seniors say. Its boring after classes and during weekends. I've been spending alot of time hanging out in Dawn's place this whole week as it seems to be the nearest most interesting place and she's cool to hang out with. Our internet is somehow like a menopause woman with temperamental moods. It works most of the time but at times it just doesnt. The others staying around our area are also having the same problem.

Well i'm off to the beach with the Sue sisters and some others. It's in South Haven and from what i've heard, its a really nice beach. Of course it's a fresh water beach as the nearest body of water around here would be Lake Michigan. It's so large that it looks like a sea and all but when you jump in, its fresh water.

When Shall Light Dawn??

Alright its not like what the title says. I'm not emotional or depressed now. Its more like a literal meaning for the weather over here. Its been raining the past 2 days witout stopping. It just stopped about 2 hours ago but its still all wet outside. There were also 2 tornado warnings yesterday in Kalamazoo at the eastern part near to the airport. Luckily there were no tornados. The Hurican Ike has hit Houston and a few other places and apparently Houston is left with no power. Dawn's relatives are in Houston and she was quite stressed yesterday due to news about the hurricane hitting Houston. Over here, it was raining as i said earlier perhaps due to some of the heavy clouds blown north by the Ike.

On a brighter note, we've finally gotten our internet YES YES YES and yesterday we went over to Bel and Mark's place for a potluck gathering and for some drinking. We were there for so long; around 7pm till 4.30am. We watched tv, chatted with Pet and Quzrin online, started rumors (Crystal) and had lengthy chats. It was an enjoyable evening-to-morning gathering. I dont have any pictures of it though. I think Cheryl should have some. Shall steal some of her pictures later. MUAHAHAHA. OK.....CHERRY COKE!!!

Anyway i'm expecting alot of questions about a rumor that might be starting in Sunway with the old gang soon but it should be fun to go along with it. Atleast i know someone is *looks at 'Crystal'*

Winter Approaching??

Its been so much colder the last few days due to the fact that it has been raining. Yesterday i almost froze my ass off in the drizzle and the strong wind wearing oni a long sleeve t-shirt. The morning was alright and sunny but afternoon brought a shower and the cold followed suit.

Anyway, recently Amin, Chery and I managed to go to Grand Rapids all thanks to Dawn. Thanks Dawn for driving us down there and also for taking us around for dinner the past few days and letting us hang out at your place. Really really appreciate it :D:D:D So we went down to Grand Rapids where Dawn took us to the Asian market where we got to buy alot of asian groceries. She also took us to a mall where there were sooo many shoe shops. I even got myself a shoe that i always wanted from Malaysia but couldnt cause it was either too expensive or didnt have my size during sales. There was also this one shop that sold a variety of things ranging from decor items to collector tys to sex toys and many more. Dawn and I really amused ourselves in that shop laughing at alot of stuff. Amin and Cheryl were MIA somewhere else so they didnt really get a good look around.The mall isnt impressive though. Malaysia has better malls and not being exaggerating but heck Subang Parade is bigger than the mall.

So anyway i'll post more about what has been happening some other time. Dreadfully sleepy now and i got a test to worry about as i have not studied for it.

Anyway the first week of Uni is almost over....is Friday and HURRAY i finally have enough credit hours so i do not get deported back to Malaysia. The classes here are a little different compared to Sunway though.

Yea yea, i have finished my assignment therefore i've got time to write this post out. Well truthfully its my fault that i didnt do it earlier cause Amin, Cheryl and I went over to Dawn's place earlier just to hang out and have some booze after dinner. Came back past 12am and then only i decided to have a go at the assignment. Thank god Suan Loong found a solution manual which helped alot.

Am now currently residing in the States specifically Kalamazoo in Michigan state. I just arrived on the 22nd of August US time which makes its to be peraps aroundthe 23rd of August Malaysian time.

The place here is considerably laid back compared to the city life that we are all used to in KL. Havent been around long though and i havent hada real grasp of the life here in Kalamazoo yet. So i shall blog more about how it is here some other time when i have had a good feel around.

Leaving Soon

OMG.....there's aproximately 6 more days to the 21st of this month which isthe day that i shall be leaving this land that i have been living on for the past 18 years of my life. OK fine i'm not gonna be gone forever but still its gonna be a long time to say...next July when i might be coming back.

And I'M STILL NOT PACKED......right....well i got myself to blame since i'm mostly a last minute person who needs the stress and pressure to make me work....yes i know its a bad habit but its difficult to change. I've been like that since secondary school and now more so in college that i'm in the ADTP program where it almost seems as though they condone last minute working and panicking.

Well other than me leaving for the States, quite a number of people will also be leaving. Just Tuesday a friend of mine whom i have known for such a long time since primary school left for the States as well. Kai Sin i shall miss you and i hope that we get to meet up in the States. Like you said LETS GO NY :D:D

Now dont execute me on the spot but i shall say this is my first time eating at Jogoya. I've heard about it many times about how good the food is and so and so. Well ok fine i admit that the food is good. There are SOOOO many things to eat that i could hardly sample them all and i was practically BLOATED. It was difficult to even put something else into my mouth and chew (no i wasnt greedy stuffing myself like a beast).

Tying Up Some Ends and Life Ahead

6 and a half more weeks till i go over to the states. Its not really as long as what it sounds like since time does literally FLY. And yet there are still so many things left to do such as my visa, paying for the flight and packing.

Well visa ought not be a problem since i already have everything and just need to get it done. Just that i don't wanna go do it alone and rather wait for Amin. However if worst comes to worst I'll have to do it alone but I'll wait for him.

Besides that i still need to SHOP for the stuff that i need. Well i basically have everything but just need more of them that's all. One of something wont be any good if it goes bad or missing. However still putting it off....my mum's been asking me to not procrastinate but its a bad habit. Suppose that I'll have to get it done this weekend or next.

Currently I'm having mixed feelings as to going off cause a huge part of me is excited to go over for all the new experience and independent living (so cliche) but a smaller part of me seems hooked here where i know my way around, i know how to handle and manage things and also all the taken-for-granted good food that Malaysia has to offer. Also this part of me feels grieve to leave my parents as when I'm gone only the both of them are left. It will be my parents in a house that seems a little too large for only two people to stay in. However, i feel privileged that my parents are able to send me out of the country to study where many other youths my age do not have the opportunity. So, i feel obligated to return to Malaysia after i have finished studying. If i do get a job over in the States i would not turn it down as i have made this decision some time ago that working there is better than coming back to Malaysia to work seeing as how the country is turning out nowadays. Its all too pro-Malay (no offence meant). If i do obtain a job there i would still make sure i come back to see to my parents. But ahh, this is all talk for now. I'm sure many of those who read this would think that 'ahh...this guy is saying what all other people say and wont do'. Well i cant deny that i will hold on to this but i will do my best and see what the future holds in store.

Also, i would be sure to miss my friends and peeps that i have known since small and also those that i have only gotten to know these past 2 years but it would seem that not all of us would be continuing on to the same places. College is like a meeting point before a split road where you get to enjoy the most of two years then you're off to another place with a few friends and have to make new ones again. But that's all life as my dad says. The people around you will always change and will only stabilize once you reach working life. But that's still some years more to come. For now i suppose I'll have to look in front of me and concentrate with what is about to come.

Ahh well enough thinking about this before i start crying (most people would not believe this). Haha...well enough rambling for now....shall write again when i feel like it...

American Week & Paintball

Well American Week is officially over and there isnt much to do now :D. Friday was the last day of the American Week and was also the American Independence Day. We had the finals of the hot dog eating competition which was won by yours truly...not gonna post the pics coz eating competition picture's never look good...makes people look like barbarians...lmao. The pics are on facebook however.

So after we were done with the American Week and all the cleaning up, we proceeded to play paintball later in the afternoon which Ming has been organizing since last week. And i must say paintball was really really fun (ish..cliche word).

Yeap we laughed, shot people, laughed at people after they have been shot and also as usual be bitchy on the field with all the taunting and stuff. AND AND Cheryl DIDN'T manage to shoot me...HAH suck on that.....'tong konsong'.

And today was very laid back....slept till 5.30pm...yes i'm nocturnal....and nothing much till now....So...off now to do something else....

Loss of Motivation

Currently, i don feel motivated to do much and i find that things are starting to become a lil boring. I wonder whether this is because i'm gonna be going over soon and am excited over it to the point where not much enthralls me here. The only things that still bring joy are the peepz that i see on a daily basis when i'm not spending day light locked in my room sleeping with no care even if the sky falls.

Somehow its only with friends that i feel lifely, be it old friends who i have not seen for ages or the peepz from college. I suppose its fun cause we bing ADTP-ians are somewhat on the edge on being crazy and doing stuff that at times might not be normal. Its those special things that really bring joy.

And the peepz...with them ranging from normal to bitchy to bimbotic to woman-ish to whatever is it, that's what brings the life in ADTP. Well in our gang atleast. Although sometimes we do go overboard with what we say and for that i must apologize on my part (sry john.... :D).

Arh well enough said...life's not been very interesting to blog about. Well looking forward to paintball on Friday...hehehe *evil laughter*.....i get to shoot people for no reason and no one can find fault in that...lalala :D:D

Countdown - 1 month plus left

Its now the last day of June and July is just tomorrow. Time flies indeed when you really take the time to reflect on it....yes this sounds cheesy....alot so but its true. It was only the beginning of the year that i said i'll be leaving in 8 month's time and now its almost time to go. No doub July will breeze by just as fast.

And seeing as time does fly, PANIC!!!
There's still alot to do before 'going over' actually becomes reality. There is still the visa to do, flight to pay for since booking is done and settling the apartment payment (no problems here since Sue-Yenn is helping us over there....Thanks so much :D:D).
Then there's also all those prior commitments to fulfill before i go as well...

Oh well...enough rambling....off to watch 'Superhero Movie'.

Watched the movie Wanted today....it was a good movie albeit it being very very very...very... exaggerating...the action scenes are cool and well made but as said.....too exaggerated....
Wanted beats Matrix in terms of 'coolness' and 'WOW factor'.....

Still trying to break the habit of being partially nocturnal......my mum says that i should adopt this sleeping pattern in the States, not here since where i'll be going is exactly 12 hours behind us.....

Oh well enough rambling....off to do whatever it is i feel like doing.....

Heh...i must say that my current biological time is pretty f***ed up...... i've been sleeping at 4 to 6 am and waking way past 1 the next day.......totally gonna kill me but then again seeing as i'm going over to the States soon, it might actually be beneficial as WMU is exactly 12 hrs behind us.....so opposite time......

So anyway quitting ranting about that *points above*, today was kinda okok-ish.....Ming had a pot luck cum poker night over at his place.....alot of trash talking went on during the poker games......expected from those few...not gonna point out who tho.....you'd most probably know....yea...you can kick my ass tomorrow or wateva but i don’t really bother.....

Well gotta try to temporarily adjust my internal clock for tonight as test tomorrow...that is after i've meddled with my layout....like my layout but its alil pissy coz it doesnt load 100% of the time and it doesnt show dates...zzzzz...

After having not blogged for the past few years, i have been driven by boredom into atarting to rant about stuff again. Sadly, i find that to even lay down this simple layout took me some time....tsk tsk....i feel 'rusty' in blogging..... oh well.....on with the rants then which will come when i feel like it......
